Children’s Ministry Training Courses
Ministering to children is a vital part of Church life. Children are not the church of tomorrow, they are the church today. Children can experience and contribute a huge amount in the Kingdom of God, and it is a privilege to be involved in helping them to do this.
The Equip 4 Success Children’s Ministry Training Course is aimed at any team – however large or small – that works with children in a Christian setting, whether in a church or in the community. It would also benefit people who have a heart to work with children but want to learn more before they do. Previous experience in working with children is not essential to participate in the course.
The training course will inspire, encourage and give you fresh tools and vision to equip you in what can be a challenging and unappreciated task. Remember, God places huge importance on ministering to children (Mk 10:14).
In addition to the course, Equip 4 Success is available to work alongside your team for a period of time to encourage, advice or carry out further training. If you are looking for a new direction for your Children’s Work, we offer ‘Life Kidz’, a package providing both a teaching program for children (aged from 3 to 11 years) and a theme and structure for the session which complements the teaching program. The curriculum is based on important Biblical themes and principles and has two vital elements:
- Each lesson is founded firmly in the Word of God and based around a memory verse. Giving children a solid foundation in God’s Word provides them with the best possible start to life.
- Each lesson is applied very practically to the daily lives and experiences of the children, ensuring that every child will leave with at least one thing that will help them to succeed and live better in the week ahead.

The Value God Places on Children

Understanding Children
The starting point for working with children at any level must be gaining a basic understanding of them and their needs. Children today, more than ever before, need to know that there is someone who is genuinely interested in them and who cares about them. Children are individuals, each one uniquely gifted by God. Having an awareness of this will improve the way in which you train and minister to them.

Training Children Spiritually
The spirit is the centre of our being, from which everything necessary for life flows (Jn 7:38). As children’s ministers, our principle concern is the spiritual development of the children in our care. We need to raise our expectations of what we can expect from children spiritually. They have a great capacity to be taught and grow in a relationship with God, and He loves them and desires this for them.

The Components of a Dynamic Children’s Church

Effective Communication
One of the most important things we can do for children is to feed them the Word of God in a way that they can understand, enjoy and apply to their lives. This role is not limited to trained teachers or preachers - everyone can do it! The teaching in this subject will increase your confidence by giving you simple tools and tips that you can use to improve your communication skills.
